November 14, 2012 could not have been a better day to leave Vancouver.
Randall and I boarded a plane and we spent the next little while in the sky.
That bag might be necessary if you end up viewing this entire post of substantial art.
It’s quite a time to watch all this go by.
Some of these, particularly this frame, deserve to be viewed at higher resolution. That’s not even full res.
Someone missing a helmet.
After finding our accommodations we managed to find the next important thing. Eating in Texas.
Our server was a good salesman. Also yes that tasted good.
We would decline another round, then he would bring more beers. We drank them anyway. We don’t care.
We were totally out of control. We drank so many beers. And pie.
Also we found out that someone else was totally out of control.
Although many businesses had put on a welcoming message, it was quite clear that most of the locals had left town for fear of the F1 masses.
In the next post there will be some additional very exciting photographs such as more pictures of food, some signs, a vehicle and pieces of paper.

On Saturday, June 23rd, 2012 me and three favourite people saw Metric play the Commodore Ballroom. Tickets were free, available by “contest” only, as part of a campaign to promote Rogers Wireless Box Office (which sure didn’t last long). The band played Synthetica more or less front to back. So these are the frames.
There was a sense about this performance that found the band still looking for the identity to songs that hadn’t yet had a chance to live in front of a crowd. In retrospect, it was quite a contrast to compare this night to the Rogers Arena show that followed in November (an epic arena experience that somehow managed to make Rogers Arena feel like your best friends and favourite band were gathered in your living room). But this one was special in it’s own intimate way. To witness a band perform a fresh album released just 11 days prior to an audience trending more towards longtime fans than happenstance concert winning attendees, in an unlikely venue clearly outgrown by the bands success, it was a memory to keep.

Good morning internet! These are just a few shots made back in October shortly after getting my new camera.
Before I get in to the snip snaps, you may have noticed that the URL for my blog has been changed. Over at affectuoso.ca I’ve made a little collection of some of my favourite photographs using a very fancy portfolio format so look at that and be welcome to let me know how you feel about it.
As said this is a bit random but still some stuff I like and want to share. Coming up soon, some photos from my trip Austin last year…
A pair of nice ladies selling sandwiches.
I was reading a book and drinking coffee.
When we stopped in front of Cactus Club this kind woman explained to the bus driver that the reason they keep the lights so low in there is so you can’t read the price on the bill!
What it looks like.
Broadway.
Room at night.
City in the day.
And again in the evening.

Hello, readers. A couple of years ago I used my camera a few times to impress these emulsions. How about that?
I guess on this day we went to eat some where in the sun. Sounds like a novel idea right about now.
What to say!
I still can’t believe this woman drew a firearm on a child.
But, I can totally believe that.
Big birdy likes the tummy rub.
This post is so random, right?
Sanch :o
Weston chose to grant us a public performance that day.
Hmm, what else do I need? Maybe some beef jerky?
Okay. Thanks for stopping by, readers. Hope I have not been overwhelming you with so many updates.
